Visit of Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh to New York

 

     Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, reached New York on Tuesday evening from Washington D.C. visiting en route the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Akshardham, Robbinsville, New Jersey. 

     Hon'ble Chief Minister chaired a business seminar titled 'Investment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh' which was organized by Consulate General of India, New York in association with Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) & United States India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) on October 25, 2017 at the Consulate premises. In his keynote address the Hon'ble Chief Minister invited members of the business community to invest in the State of Madhya Pradesh. A presentation on investment opportunities was given by Principal Secretary Commerce, Industry and Employment, Mr. Mohammed Suleman. The seminar was well attended by prominent members of the business community and investors.

     On the same day, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited the Entrepreneurship Incubation Centre and Innovation of Tandon School of Engineering at New York University where he discussed the possibility of setting up such incubation centers in universities of Madhya Pradesh and of New York University's cooperation in this regard.

     While addressing a gathering at a reception held in his honor at Consulate on 26th October 2017, Chief Minister Chouhan announced that ‘Friends of MP’ Summit will be organized in the State on January 3 and 4, 2018. He appreciated the Indian community residing in New York and New Jersey for their contribution towards extending the activities of ‘Friend of MP’ Forum in the region.

     Chief Minister held discussions with a number of business heads, technology groups, academia field and representatives of hotel and tourism industry to accelerate the pace of development in Madhya Pradesh during his visit to New York.

     He visited a farm in New Jersey to understand agricultural innovation and best practices.
